I’m working as fast as I can and it’s not fast enough to satisfy me. So far, I’ve not had the opportunity do that. Paperbacks *are* coming…but I need about a week to sit down and figure out how to make the books do what I want in paper. I don’t have a Mac so I can’t upload to the iBook store. I’m definitely not listing on Smashwords again unless/until they fix the conversion tool. No, I’m probably not going to list on B&N again. The last time I uploaded there was such a nightmare that I’ve blocked it out of my mind. I’m not sure what version is still on Smashwords. You can get all the various formats of Ravenwood on Smashwords now but I’ll be making that available here as well. I’ll make them available here as soon as I have them. Some have asked about epub versions of Zypheria’s Call. It needs to be completed by the end of April.īefore I can work on that I need to finish a contractual obligation to write a novella for Dark Overlord Media. I’m still hoping to get the audio version of Zypheria’s Call done in time for this year’s Parsec Awards. That’s been a much bigger drain on my energy than I really was aware of, but the trial is over and she’s finally at peace. I’ll be going back to Maine for the interment when the ground thaws. (Thanks for the nudge, Miriam.)įor those who didn’t hear, my sister lost her battle with cancer at the end of January. It’s one of the problems with having three blogs. Well, that was over a week ago and I just realized that I haven’t posted since before Yule.

The last two letters (Hatfield House CP 133/188 and 2/18), constitute the only surviving holograph letters that Philip wrote to Elizabeth: the first congratulated her on her accession and paved the way for a reluctant proposal of marriage the second offered thinly veiled threats on the direction of Elizabeth’s religious settlement. The former, a holograph copy, reveals the care and caution with which Mary initiated direct contact with her husband the latter, a heavily edited holograph draft, is crucial to our understanding of Mary’s intransigence towards – and ultimate defiance of – her husband’s express wish that Princess Elizabeth should marry the Duke of Savoy. 109–10) represent the only known holographs (hand-written letters) exchanged between Philip and Mary (and, indeed, the only surviving letters written to Philip by any of his four queens). Philip II Had Gone to the Netherlands Geoffrey Parker considers the far-reaching consequences of a sudden change of plan by the king of Spain in 1567. Although all three monarchs have received considerable individual attention in recent years, few studies have examined the complex relationship that evolved between them. This essay presents four remarkable but hitherto neglected or mis-identified holograph letters exchanged between Philip II and two of his English relatives, Mary and Elizabeth Tudor. Sixteenth-century rulers wrote more letters in their own hands than any of their medieval predecessors, providing valuable insight into the practice of ‘executive diplomacy’. Afterward, Kelley urges Emira to post the video online, but Emira doesn’t want to. A bystander ( Kelley Copeland) records the altercation. In each time period, the question is put forth again of whether there is a way to reverse entropy, with each AC responding "THERE IS AS YET INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR A MEANINGFUL ANSWER". The story skips ahead to several successive time periods in the far future, each with humanity having made tremendous advancements under the guidance of a supercomputer descended from the original Multivac (first Microvac/Planetary AC, then Galactic AC, then Universal AC, then Cosmic AC). On a $5 bet, one of the technicians poses the question to Multivac: "How can the net amount of entropy of the universe be massively decreased?" Multivac responds with "INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR MEANINGFUL ANSWER." A pair of technicians, drunk from celebrating, discuss the theoretical future of humanity and the ultimate heat-death of the universe due to entropy. The story begins in 2061, with the activation of the new global supercomputer, Multivac. It is about a question that is presented to a series of supercomputers over a long period of time.
